🇭🇷 Dubrovnik — Pearl of the Adriatic

Day 8 · Fri Aug 7 · 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM · 10 stops
💰 BUDGET FIXES Save ~€90 vs Tourist Prices
A traveler spent €150 in 24 hours here — these are the fixes
❌ Walls-only ticket €35 → ✅ Dubrovnik Pass (€40/1-day): same price as the walls but INCLUDES Rector's Palace, museums & bus travel. "Buy 1 get 10 free." (€50/3-day, €60/7-day also available)

❌ Cable car €27 → ✅ Bus #17 or Uber for a fraction — or hike the free Panorama Trail: better photos because the cables aren't in your frame

❌ Dinner on Stradun (€12 beer, €25 basic pasta) → ✅ walk 5 min outside the walls to Gruž or Lapad: fresh seafood & local craft beer at 50% less, sitting with locals not tourists

❌ Private Lokrum boat €80 → ✅ official ferry from Old Port: every 30 min, ~€27 including nature reserve entry

🚨 Walls timing: The walls get EXTREMELY hot and crowded by midday. Go at 8 AM or after 5 PM. Bring water, hat, sunscreen. The stone radiates heat.
⚠️ GoT bottlenecks: Game of Thrones filming spots (Fort Lovrjenac, Jesuit Stairs, King's Landing walk) create photo bottlenecks. Be patient or skip the selfie.

4
Lokrum Island
Car-free island with botanical gardens, Dead Sea saltwater lake, peacocks, and cliff jumping. Official ferry from Old Port every 30 min (~€27 incl. reserve entry) — skip the €80 private boats.
⏰ 11:30 AM – 2:00 PM
⚠️ Lokrum ferry: Last boat back can sell out or have very long lines in peak season. Check the return schedule when you arrive and plan to leave early.
